Nature via nurture vs stupidity. Are pandas going to go the way of the dodo?
Pandas prefer to live alone.
They eat bamboo which has almost zero nutritional value.
They mate once a year; the male runs 20km to the nearest female and probably has no energy left when he arrives so the sex can’t be that great. They eventually produce a pair of offspring, then leave one to die, focusing their efforts on one. The female accidentally sits on the remaining pandalet and kills it.
Is it any wonder they’re endangered?
